First Years

Are you a first-year TiSEM student? Then you automatically participate in the GROW@TiSEM program, together with your work group. GROW@TiSEM program is a module and part of one of the courses in your first year. The exact course it is combined with is different for every bachelor. For more information about GROW@TiSEM program you can take a look at the syllabus of the course, you can find this on Canvas.

The role of MAK

GROW@TiSEM program is divided into a formal and informal part. The formal part is organized by the GROW@TiSEM program team of the university. A class meeting is an example of an aspect of GROW@TiSEM program that is part of the formal part.

The informal part of GROW@TiSEM program is where MAK comes in. MAK organizes a few informal activities which you can attend with your mentorgroup! This is an nice and easy way for mentors and students to bond with each other.

On top of that, MAK also organizes a Development Day yearly. This is a more formal event, meant to stimulate first-year students to develop themselves. We've had quite a few editions, with inspiring speakers like Tim Hofman, Rico Verhoeven, Sharon Hilgers (CEO of MyJewellery) and many more! It is the perfect event to low-key develop yourself.

Are you interested in organizing certain events yourself? Take a look at the become a MAKker page!
