PASS Mentoring Program
“It forms the perfect opportunity to relive the TOP week, but especially to stimulate the progress of first year Tilburg School of Economics and Management (TiSEM) students.”
Do you want to give freshmen the best start of their student life during the TOP Week and to guide them during their first year? Then you should become a MAK mentor!
As a MAK mentor, you will guide a group of freshmen during the TOP Week and the PASS Mentoring Program of Tilburg School of Economics and Management (TiSEM). Your group consists of students who are going to study in Tilburg for the next couple of years. You will show them around Tilburg University and the city of Tilburg. As a mentor you will make the students experience an unforgettable week with loads of fun and you will also provide them an excellent start of their study career.
The PASS Mentoring Program
As a MAK Mentor you will guide your ‘kids’ during their first year as a student. So, you have to be available one full year. During this year you have the opportunity to develop skills due to several workshops. Furthermore, you will have to guide your ‘kids’ concerning study and integration. To guide them you will attend class meetings together with your ‘kids’ and meet with them regularly during the year. On top of this, you will have some informal activities which will be announced soon. Last year this was the MAK beer cantus and a lunch.
The TOP Week
During the TOP Week you will attend a lot of (fun) activities with your ‘kids’. On Monday you will start at Tilburg University with the MAK Introduction Day. The MAK Introduction Day is an informal day on which mentor groups will get to know Tilburg University and their mentor group. Besides the MAK Introduction Day, MAK also organizes the Kick-off sessions, before or after the TOP Week (this depends on your study program). During this session, MAK provides all students with all the practical information needed to start their academic career the best way possible. If you would like to gain more insight into the rest of the program, you should visit the TOP Week website.
What’s in it for you?
Besides a lot of fun during the year you will develop yourself in an informal and formal way. You will follow several workshops during the semester but also during the MAKtrainingsday (June 21). Of course, your social and leadership skills will be trained since you guide a group of new students and make a lot of friends. Moreover, you will receive a financial compensation and other benefits in the form of a TiU approval letter and CV experience.
