Become a MAKker

Do you want to become active besides your studies? Would you like to organize events for your fellow Tilburg School of Economics and Management students? And would you like to do this together with a very social group of friends? Then you should become a MAKker!

If you are interested in doing more than just sitting in lectures and making assignments, we might be looking for you! We are seeking motivated, enthusiastic, and committed students who want to develop themselves, socially and professionally.

Getting started as a MAKker

First of all, you will get to know your fellow MAKkers, during one of our weekly drinks in Café Philip. MAKkers are social and open-minded , so you will notice that you’ll get to know everyone very fast. After the General MAKkers Meeting, the committees are divided and you will get started!

Working in committees

There is one committee chairman, mostly someone who had some experience within MAK or within the specific committee. Committees will consist of experienced MAKkers and new MAKkers, so you will learn from each other. Within the committee, the tasks are equally divided between the committee members. However, a pro-active attitude is required and all ideas to improve things within the committee and within MAK are welcome! Take a look at the various committees within MAK!

Personal development within MAK

At MAK, we focus on personal development. This is accomplished by getting responsibilities, but there is more. As a MAKker, you will get workshops in your first year. You will learn to have effective meetings, conflict management and you will learn how to work with Photoshop. Furthermore, during the evaluation meetings the board asks you what you want to learn and what committee you think will be interesting for you for the upcoming semester.

Socially

As a MAKker working in committees is not  the only aspect. MAK is a very social group of friends, that you will get to know very fast. Besides the weekly drink, there are many more social activities! For example, MAK weekend, Walking Dinner, and birthdays, but also coffee at university and studying together.
